PHNOM PENH -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry here on Thursday, with both sides speaking highly of their long-lasting friendship.

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia and Russia on Friday signed here the plan of consultations for 2022-2024, aiming at further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

BANGKOK -- A fire at a nightclub in Thailand's Chonburi province in the early hours of Friday has killed at least 14 people and injured more than dozens, rescue team said.

The fire, which broke out at about 1 a.m. (1800 GMT Thursday) at the nightclub in Chonburi, about 80 km from the capital Bangkok, has been put out and all the injured people have been hospitalized, said Wisarut Petcharat, a rescue worker at the scene with the Sawang Rojana Thammasathan Foundation. COLOMBO -- The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and Ministry of Finance have authorized the Colombo Port City Economic Commission (CPCEC) to issue offshore licenses for four banks initially to operate at the Colombo Port City.

The CPCEC said in a statement released on Friday that the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has created a new class of account for all banks under its regulatory purview. (Sri Lanka-Colombo Port City)
