BRATISLAVA, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Slovakian government has lost its majority in the parliament after more ministers from the liberal Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party resigned on Monday.

SaS leader and former Economy Minister Richard Sulik resigned from his post last week. Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok, Justice Minister Maria Kolikova, and Education Minister Branislav Grohling followed suit on Monday.

Slovakian Prime Minister Eduard Heger said he will inform the country's President Zuzana Caputova of the outgoing ministers' successors, the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) reported.

The SaS ministers had threatened to leave the four-party coalition if Finance Minister Igor Matovic refused to step down, following disagreements over measures to tackle inflation and the energy crisis. Matovic belongs to the Ordinary People (OLaNO) party. Enditem
