RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Santos have parted ways with manager Luiz Lorenzi after just eight matches in charge, the Brazilian club said on Monday.
The decision came two days after Santos suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Ceara, a result that left them 10th in the Serie A standings with just eight wins from 26 games.
"The board and the coach have decided to terminate the contract by mutual agreement," Santos said in a statement posted on social media.
Lorenzi, commonly known as Lisca, was appointed Santos manager in July as a replacement for Fabian Bustos.
Local media reported that Argentine managers Jorge Sampaoli, Marcelo Bielsa and Sebastian Beccacece are in the running to assume the vacant position. Enditem
