MEXICO CITY, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Mexico manager Gerardo Martino has named four Netherlands-based players in his squad for friendlies against Peru and Colombia in the United States.
Ajax pair Jorge Sanchez and Edson Alvarez were called up for the games in California, as were PSV Eindhoven's Erick Gutierrez and Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez, the Mexican Football Federation said on Tuesday.
The preliminary list of 31 players also includes Napoli forward Hirving Lozano, Real Betis midfielder Andres Guardado, Wolverhampton forward Raul Jimenez and Leon goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota.
Mexico will face Peru at the Rose Bowl on September 24 and Colombia at Levi's stadium three days later.
It will be Martino's last chance to test his squad before the World Cup in Qatar, to be played from November 20 to December 18.
Mexico have been drawn into Group C alongside Poland, Argentina and Saudi Arabia.
