SIEM REAP, Cambodia -- The economic ministers of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) have endorsed their joint action plan 2023-2024, aiming to boost the post-COVID-19 economic recovery, a Cambodian official said on Saturday.

The endorsement was made during the 14th CLMV Economic Ministers' Meeting, which was held on Friday in Cambodia's northwestern Siem Reap province, on the sidelines of the 54th ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meeting. (Cambodia-CLMV-Action Plan)

TOKYO -- The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said Saturday it is ready to issue a special typhoon warning for some areas in the country's southwestern region of Kyushu as an "unprecedented" storm is expected to approach.

Large and powerful Typhoon Nanmadol is forecast to make landfall in Kagoshima and bring record rain to the prefecture and nearby areas, with the weather agency calling for maximum vigilance as damaging winds and high waves are expected, possibly triggering landslides and flooding. AUCKLAND, New Zealand -- A shipping container loaded with products of New Zealand and Pacific Island nation Vanuatu left Port of Tauranga, the largest port in New Zealand, on Saturday for the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2022 to be held in Shanghai on Nov. 5-10.

More than 200 companies from New Zealand have participated in the previous four editions of the expo in China, which is by far New Zealand's largest trading partner. (New Zealand-China-CIIE)

TOKYO -- A gala commemorating the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic ties was held on Friday evening in Tokyo, Japan.
