6 die in flood-driven diseases in last 24 hours in Pakistan's Sindh

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- A surge in the number of people affected by different diseases continued in Pakistan's southern Sindh province following floods as six people died in the last 24 hours, the provincial health department said on Friday.

According to a report released by the health department, two patients died from gastroenteritis, two from pneumonia, one from rectal bleeding, and one from acute respiratory infections.

The death toll in Sindh from the recent wave of infectious diseases due to floods since July 1 has moved up to 334.

About 435 emergency medical camps were set up in Sindh on Thursday, bringing the total number of camps set up in the province since July 1 to 14,032. Enditem
