PARIS, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Forward Richarlison expressed hope that fans "will believe in me more" after scoring a brace in Brazil's 3-0 friendly win over Ghana on Friday.

The Tottenham Hotspur player gave his team a 2-0 lead with a powerful 28th-minute strike before heading in Brazil's third goal after a Neymar free-kick just before halftime.

"I just want to quietly do my work and take advantage of every opportunity that the coach [Tite] gives me," Richarlison told reporters after the match.

"I hope that the Brazilian people believe in me more because I've shown that when I get my chance I score. Hopefully I can continue in this form."

Richarlison has scored six goals in his last five games for Brazil and has now netted 16 times in 37 international appearances since 2018.

He also revealed that his habit of tracking back when Brazil are not in possession is largely aimed at easing the workload on talismanic forward Neymar.

"I try to help there in the middle," the 25-year-old said. "We need to help Neymar stay fresh so that we can make the most of him up front. I help in the midfield so that he can be free."

Friday's fixture was the penultimate chance for Tite to test his squad before the FIFA World Cup, to be played in Qatar from November 20 to December 18. The final opportunity will be a friendly against Tunisia in Paris on Tuesday.

Brazil have been drawn in Group G of football's showpiece tournament with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon. Ghana will feature in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay. Enditem
