ADEN -- Yemen's pro-government forces on Saturday continued anti-terror military operations in the southern province of Abyan, a security official told Xinhua.

BAGHDAD -- A soldier and two Islamic State (IS) militants were killed on Saturday in clashes north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, the Iraqi military said.
Based on intelligence reports, an Iraqi army force attacked an IS hideout in dense orchards in the Tarmiyah area, some 30 km north of Baghdad, the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (JOC) said in a statement. (Iraq-Islamic State-Clashes)

ISTANBUL -- At least six illegal migrants died while 15 others were rescued on the Agean Sea on Saturday after their life raft sank, according to the Turkish Coast Guard.

RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian driver who lost control of his car on a highway near the northern West Bank city of Nablus was killed, Palestinian security sources and the victim's families said.
The sources said that Mohammad Abu Kafia, 36, a resident of Bayt Ijza village northwest of Jerusalem, was killed by Israeli police in the evening when he was driving his car on Route 60 adjacent to the village of Jit, west of Nablus. (Palestinian-Israeli Forces-Death) Enditem
