PHNOM PENH, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's three-day Pchum Ben public holiday ended with 1.25 million people traveling to various tourist attractions across the kingdom, Tourism Minister Thong Khon said on Tuesday.

The Pchum Ben festival, which honors the dead and ran from Saturday to Monday this year, was one of the largest religious festivals in the Southeast Asian nation.

"A total of 1.25 million tourists, including 14,479 foreigners, had traveled to different tourist attractions across Cambodia during the festival from Sept. 24-26," Khon said in a news release.

The most popular destinations were Battambang, Siem Reap, Kep, Pursat, and Preah Sihanouk provinces, he added. Enditem
