BAGHDAD -- Thirteen people were killed and 58 wounded on Wednesday after Iranian forces carried out cross-border bombardments on Iranian Kurdish opposition parties' positions in the semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan in northern Iraq.

A statement by the regional Kurdish Counter-Terrorism Service said that Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps carried out four stages of bombardments, using ballistic missiles and booby-trapped drone. (Iraq-Iran-Kurdistan)

HOUSTON -- At least one person was killed following a shooting on Wednesday at a hospital north of Little Rock, capital of the U.S. state of Arkansas, authorities said.

A suspect has been taken into custody, according to Sherwood Police Chief Jeff Hagar.

WASHINGTON -- "Extremely dangerous" Ian made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane in southwestern Florida, the southeasternmost U.S. state, on Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

BAGHDAD -- A total of 133 people, mostly security members, were wounded on Wednesday as the Iraqi parliament reconvened after nearly two months of suspension, the Iraqi Joint Operations Command said in a statement.
