JAKARTA, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 jolted Indonesia's western province of North Sumatra on Saturday morning with no potential to trigger a tsunami, the country's meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said.
The quake hit at 02:28 Jakarta time on Saturday (1928 GMT Friday) with the epicenter at 15 km northwest of Tapanuli Utara (North Tapanuli) district and a depth of 10 km, the agency said.
The tremors did not potentially trigger a tsunami, it said.
A tremor with a magnitude of 5.1 followed the mainshock, according to the agency. Enditem
