MANAGUA -- The Nicaraguan government on Friday issued a diplomatic note in which it officially cut ties with the Netherlands for its "repeated interfering, interventionist and neo-colonialist" actions.

In the note, the Nicaraguan government said that the Netherlands "has offended and continues to offend Nicaraguan families with threats and suspensions of works for the common good, such as hospitals for indigenous and Afro-descendant communities." (Nicaragua-Netherlands-Diplomatic Ties)

PRAGUE -- The leading government coalition party, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), won the most seats in this year's Senate elections, according to official results published by the Czech Statistical Office on Saturday.

GAZA -- Hundreds of Palestinians rallied in Gaza City on Saturday to protest against Israeli raids on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The rally was organized by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) at Palestine Stadium in northwestern Gaza city under the title "Al-Aqsa Mosque is in danger."
