Singapore reports 3,240 new COVID-19 cases

SINGAPORE, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Singapore reported 3,240 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total tally to 2,099,760.

Of the new cases, 400 were detected through PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests and 2,840 through ARTs (antigen rapid test), according to statistics released by the country's Ministry of Health.

Among the PCR cases, 385 were local transmissions and 15 were imported cases. Among the ART cases with mild symptoms and assessed to be of low risk, there were 2,659 local transmissions and 181 imported cases.

A total of 522 cases are currently warded in hospitals, with 13 in intensive care units.

Two more deaths from COVID-19 were reported on Sunday, taking the total death toll to 1,676. Enditem
