JERUSALEM, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Belgian side Lindemans Aalst won 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 25-23) against Israel's Hapoel Kfar Saba in the main phase of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Challenge Cup on Wednesday evening.
The first set of the match was close, and went for the visitors thanks to a spike by Lennart Heckel.
Renars Jansons inspired Aalst to win the second set, but points by Tamir Hershko and Andrei Vasilenko brought Kfar Saba back in the third set.
However, Jansons and Egor Bogachev dominated the fourth set, leading the visitors to win the match.
Baetens contributed a team-high 17 points for Aalst, while Jansons finished with 15 points. Hershko contributed a game-high 21 points for the Israelis.
The second leg will take place in Aalst on November 16, with the aggregate winner facing Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus or Croatia's OK Ribola Kastela. Enditem
