ASUNCION, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Newcastle United midfielder Miguel Almiron leads a 25-man Paraguay squad for friendlies against Peru and Colombia, the Paraguayan Football Association said on Friday.

Manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto also included Brazil-based central defenders Fabian Balbuena and Gustavo Gomez - from Corinthians and Palmeiras, respectively - CSKA Moscow midfielder Jesus Medina and Brighton forward Julio Enciso.

Paraguay will meet Peru in Lima on November 16 and Colombia in Fort Lauderdale three days later.

The fixtures will serve as preparation for South America's qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, which are scheduled to begin in March.
