RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Fortaleza scored two second-half goals to secure a berth in next year's Copa Libertadores with a 2-0 away win over Santos on the final day of Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.
Thiago Galhardo put the visitors ahead with a 66th-minute header from close range and Moises doubled the lead when he slotted a low shot past Joao Martins after Silvio Romero's through ball 10 minutes from time.
The result lifted Fortaleza to eighth place - the last Copa Libertadores slot available in Brazil's top flight - with 55 points from 38 games. Santos dropped to 12th, eight points further back.
Meanwhile, Argentine striker German Cano scored his 26th league goal of the season as Fluminense secured third spot with a 1-0 win at Bragantino.
In Porto Alegre, Mauricio, Alexandre Alemao and Braian Romero were on target as Internacional guaranteed themselves of second spot by routing champions Palmeiras 3-0.
Elsewhere, Athletico Paranaense won 3-0 at home to Botafogo, Ceara cruised to a 4-1 home win over Juventude, Atletico Goianiense drew 1-1 at Cuiaba, Atletico Mineiro won 1-0 at Corinthians and Sao Paulo prevailed 4-0 at Goias. Enditem
