TUNIS, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Literature Readers Club in Tunisia held on Friday an online meet-and-greet between the Chinese author Zhang Wei and Tunisian literature lovers to promote his work September's Fable.

Zhang shared his writing experience with readers via video, hoping that people in Tunisia and other Arab countries can have a deeper understanding of China and Chinese people's life through the translation of his work.

Zahia Jouirou, director of the Translation Institute of Tunis, said in her speech that more and more people in Tunisia have developed an interest in Chinese literature in recent years.

The institute will organize more activities on Chinese literature translation in 2023 to introduce Chinese literature and culture to Tunisians, Jouirou added.

The event was attended by Tunisian literary critics, translators, lovers of Chinese literature, and students of the Higher Institute of Languages at the University of Carthage.

September's Fable was translated and published by Oriental Knowledge Publishing House in Tunisia in 2021. The book was well received by Arab readers at the Tunisia International Book Fair.

The Chinese Literature Readers Club in Tunisia was established by the Oriental Knowledge Publishing House in June, aiming to recommend excellent Chinese literary works to local readers and provide a platform for them to communicate with Chinese authors. Enditem
