ISLAMABAD, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and four others injured in two separate road accidents in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, rescuers told local media on Saturday.

Three teenage girls were killed and another person was injured on Saturday in Sudhnuti district after a school van fell into a ditch, the rescue service said.

The girls were reportedly killed on the spot while the driver got severely injured and was shifted to a local hospital, the local media said, adding that two of the deceased were sisters.

Separately, one person was killed and three others were injured in a car accident near Neelum Valley district, the rescue service reported on Saturday.

The victims were shifted to a local hospital, the rescue service said.

The ill-fated car was traveling from the Patikka area of Muzaffarabad district to the Neelum valley, it added.

Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan, mainly due to poorly maintained vehicles, dilapidated roads, as well as the negligence of road safety measures. Enditem
