BERLIN, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- After a COVID-19 pandemic induced hiatus, ISPO, the largest international trade fair for sporting goods and sportswear, returned to Munich, southern Germany, on Monday.
This year's event attracted 1,500 exhibitors from 55 countries and regions, around half as many as in record year 2019, according to the organizers. They include brands and companies from various segments, such as outdoor, sports fashion as well as health and fitness.
Open until Nov. 30, ISPO Munich 2022 features numerous innovations, such as biodegradable winter socks from Spanish company Lorpen or the Heptathlon Black Technology Down Jacket from Chinese manufacturer Sundance, which comes complete with an integrated massage unit.
Other Chinese exhibitors include sports goggles producer Shenzhen Reanson Products Co., Ltd. and outdoor brand Aparso (Fuzhou) Sportswear Co., Ltd, a German-Chinese joint venture.
ISPO is also present in China. This summer, Nanjing, capital of China's Jiangsu Province, hosted ISPO Shanghai, which attracted close to 21,000 visitors. ISPO Beijing 2022 is scheduled to be held at the Chinese capital's National Convention Center between Dec. 9 and Dec. 11.
"Without truly sustainable approaches and offers, we won't get far in our business," Tobias Groeber, head of the ISPO Group, said in a statement. "We need new perspectives on the market, consumers, retail and sport itself." Enditem
