ISLAMABAD, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Two people, including a policeman, were killed and a security official injured in two separate attacks on Thursday in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, police said.
One person was killed while a security official injured in an attack on a girls' school in the Azam Warsak area in South Waziristan district of KP, police told the local media.
Police said unknown militants opened fire from a nearby mountain during an event at the school where parents were also present.
The deceased was passing by the school when the bullet hit him, police said, adding that the parents and the school's staff remained safe.
The terrorists fled to the Pakistani-Afghan border following a retaliation from the security forces and police. The injured security official was shifted to a hospital, it added.
Separately, a police constable was shot dead by unknown men in the Tangi area in Charsadda district of the province while he was going back from duty, police said.
A search operation had been started by the police to track the attackers after the incident, it added. Enditem
