TEHRAN, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman on Friday strongly condemned recent attacks in Afghanistan, saying the continuation of "acts of terror" in the country will lead to its destabilization, which is not in the region's interests, according to semi-official Mehr news agency.

Nasser Kanaani made the remarks after two attacks took place in Kabul on Friday. One was a gun attack on Pakistan's Embassy in Kabul, and the other a suicide bombing near the Kabul office of the Hezb-e-Islami party. The two attacks happened just two days after a deadly blast rocked a religious school in northern Afghanistan's Samangan Province, killing at least 15 people.

Kanaani also highlighted the necessity of joint regional cooperation to effectively fight terrorism.

Pakistani Ambassador to Afghanistan Obaid ur Rehman Nizamani has survived unscathed the attack on the embassy compound on Friday, according to local media reports.

The attack at the office of the Hezb-e-Islami party were conducted by three unidentified assailants who detonated a car bomb and tried to enter the office, according to local officials. Enditem
