DOHA, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Louis Van Gaal is in his third spell as the Netherlands coach and according to striker Memphis Depay, he has helped to give them the mentality to go all the way in the World Cup in Qatar.

Speaking ahead of the Netherlands' quarterfinal against Argentina on Friday, Depay looked at the way the Dutch have cruised into the last eight, conceding just two goals and so-far remaining unbeaten.

Some have criticized Van Gaal's side for being dull, but Depay doesn't see things that way.

"Our discipline in the team has really tightened since Louis has arrived. That is really important to get results, especially in tournaments," he said.

"Everyone knows his vision and his character, that is one of his biggest characteristics. He is a strong and marvelous head coach. Everyone knows his responsibility and duty," Depay said of the 71-year-old, who has said he is stepping down after the tournament, while also teasing that he could continue if he leads his side to success.

"I don't know what he is going to do after the World Cup but it is clear we all want to give him a wonderful tournament," commented the striker, who looked ahead to what promises to be a tight match on Friday.

"The game is going to be decided on moments. We believe we can catch a moment and go through. We obviously want to play well, but I also think it would be a tactical game," Depay added. Enditem
