SARAJEVO, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- The representatives of the three major Bosnian political parties signed an agreement on Thursday to form the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The coalition agreement, ceremonially signed at the state Parliament building, defines the principles of the political activities of the state level government in the following mandate, which is to last until 2026.

The parties agreed to accelerate the process of joining the EU, strengthening political stability, the rule of law, social justice and the economy.

The state level government is to be formed according to the results of the general elections held on Oct. 2.

The agreement was signed by Milorad Dodik, president of the entity Republika Srpska and head of the Alliance of the Independent Social Democrats (SNSD). SNSD and its four coalition partners will represent Republika Srpska in the state government.

The second signatory was Dragan Covic, president of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), who also represented seven other political parties of Bosnian Croats, gathered under the organisation called the Croatian National Assembly.

Nermin Niksic, president of the Social Democratic Party, is the third signatory. He represents the coalition of eight political parties, mostly representing Bosniaks, but also voters who prefer the civic oriented political representation rather than the one based on ethnicity.

"We have differences about joining NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). No one changed its positions regarding that. But we decided not to waste time on that," said Dodik. Enditem
