BAGHDAD -- Two Islamic State (IS) militants were killed and one soldier wounded Sunday in a clash in Iraq's northern province of Nineveh, a provincial police source said.

Earlier in the day, a fierce clash erupted during an operation to hunt down IS militants in Qara-Chokh Mountain near the town of Makhmour, some 60 km southeast of Nineveh's provincial capital Mosul, leaving two IS militants killed and one soldier wounded, Major Saad al-Baiyati from Nineveh police told Xinhua. TEHRAN -- At least two people were killed and five others injured in a mine explosion in Iran's central Semnan Province on Sunday, official news agency IRNA reported.

LAGOS -- Nigerian police on Saturday gunned down two suspected armed robbers after an exchange of fire in southwest Nigeria's Lagos state, a police spokesperson said on Sunday.
