VIENNA -- The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Friday that it would step up its presence in Ukraine to help prevent a nuclear accident during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said in a statement that he would travel to Ukraine next week to "establish a continuous presence of nuclear safety and security experts" at all of Ukraine's nuclear power facilities. (IAEA-Russia-Ukraine Conflict)

TEHRAN -- Iranian people on Friday held rallies in different cities in condemnation of interference by some Western governments, particularly those of France, Germany, and Britain, in the country's internal affairs, according to official news agency IRNA.

DAR ES SALAAM -- At least 39 children and nine adults were rescued Friday as heavy rains caused flash floods in Tanzania's eastern region of Morogoro, said Albert Msando, the Morogoro district commissioner.

YAOUNDE -- At least two prisoners were killed after a jailbreak in Cameroon's North region, officials and police said Friday.
