HANOI -- Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has resigned and has had his memberships at the Politburo and the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam removed, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Tuesday.

BANGKOK -- An oil tanker explosion in central Thailand's Samut Songkhram province killed at least three people on Tuesday, the marine department of the Transport Ministry said.

The explosion occurred at around 9:15 a.m. local time when the tanker docked at a shipyard on the Mae Klong River in Muang district exploded and caused a fire. (Thailand-Oil Tanker-Explosion)

KATHMANDU -- With the second body recovered at the crash site of a Nepali passenger plane in central Nepal on Tuesday, 71 bodies had been found with the last missing victim remains to be confirmed, an official said.

"We have found one more body in the Seti River," Guru Datta Dhakal, assistant chief district officer of the Kaski district where the ATR-72 aircraft crashed, told Xinhua. "So the total number of bodies recovered has reached 71." (Nepal-Plane Crash-Bodies)
