MADRID, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Catalan regional police have recovered two stolen drawings by famous Spanish artist Salvador Dali, which were made 100 years ago and valued at 300,000 euros (320,460 U.S. dollars) each.

The drawings were stolen from an apartment in the wealthy Sarria-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona, and the police have returned them to the owners, said Jose Luis Gonzalez, head of the Central Investigation and Heritage Area of the Criminal Investigation Division of Catalan police, at a press conference on Friday.

According to the police, three men aged 50, 53 and 55 were arrested on the charge of burglary, while another two were detained for dealing with the swag.

The drawings are "Les sardanes de la festa major" (the Sardana at the celebration) and "Els pagesos" (the farmers), which Dali produced in 1922 when he was just 18-years old, police said.

Following the operation started a year ago, the police also recovered five pieces of work by another famous Spanish artist Joan Miro, 55 luxury watches and other valuable stolen goods. Enditem
