BERLIN -- Seven people died and at least eight others were injured in a church shooting in the German city of Hamburg Thursday evening, German newspaper Bild reported.

Earlier media reports said the shooting, which occurred around 9 p.m., killed six people. One more body was found on the upper part of the building later, reported the newspaper, adding that the police said it was currently unclear whether it was the perpetrator. (Germany-Shooting-Death)

WASHINGTON -- A freight train operated by U.S. railroad Norfolk Southern derailed near Piedmont in the southeastern U.S. state of Alabama on Thursday.

The National Transportation Security Board tweeted on Thursday afternoon that NTSB investigators are traveling to the scene.

JERUSALEM -- A gun-wielding Palestinian man opened fire on a busy street in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv on Thursday night, injuring three individuals in what was described by Israeli officials as a "terror attack."

Tel Aviv district police chief Amichai Eshed told reporters at the scene that the gunman opened fire at passersby before fleeing the scene, but was soon chased and killed by a policeman and policewoman. (Israel-Shooting-Casualties)

ABUJA -- At least five people were killed and three others sustained injuries Thursday in a fatal road accident in Nigeria's southern state of Lagos, the traffic police said.

Sulaiman Taiwo, a commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the country's traffic police, told reporters that an overspeeding sports utility vehicle lost control and rammed into a motorbike laden with petrol, causing an explosion along the Badagry-Seme expressway.
