CARACAS, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Veteran strikers Salomon Rondon and Josef Martinez have been included in Venezuela's squad for friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, the South American country's football federation said on Monday.
New head coach Fernando Batista also named Sampdoria midfielder Tomas Rincon, Parma defender Yordan Osorio and New York Red Bulls playmaker Cristian Casseres Jr.
Missing from the 29-man list were goalkeeper Wuilker Farinez, winger Yeferson Soteldo, midfielder Yangel Herrera, striker Darwin Machis and defender Nahuel Ferraresi due to injury.
The Vinotinto will meet Saudi Arabia on March 24 and Uzbekistan four days later, with both fixtures to be played in the Saudi Arabian port city of Jeddah.
The friendlies will be the team's first outings under Argentina's Batista, who was appointed manager last week following the resignation of his countryman Jose Pekerman.
