PHNOM PENH, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's Royal Group Power Company Ltd (RGP) and Singapore's Keppel Energy Pte Ltd (KE) have inked a power purchase agreement for the sale and export of one gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy generated in Cambodia to Singapore, according to a press statement on Thursday.

The pact was signed in Singapore on Wednesday between Kith Meng, chairman of RGP, and Cindy Lim, chief executive officer of Keppel Infrastructure (KI), the parent company of KE.

It said that the power purchase agreement and export of one GW of power cemented earlier agreements by the two companies to pursue the joint development and operations of selected renewable energy projects in Cambodia for the purpose of exporting renewable energy to Singapore via submarine high-voltage transmission where KE would be the off-taker.
