DAR ES SALAAM, March 16 (Xinhua) -- At least 430,000 people in three towns of Tanzania's Tabora region will benefit from a project that will draw water from Lake Victoria, an official said on Thursday.
The project will benefit residents in Sikonge, Urambo and Kaliua towns, said Mayunga Kashilimu, executive director of the Tabora Water and Sanitation Authority, when he briefed members of the parliamentary standing committee that visited the project.
Kashilimu said the project scheduled to be completed in 2025 is part of the government's mega water projects being undertaken in 28 towns across the country. Enditem
