CAIRO -- The World Bank said Wednesday it has agreed to provide Egypt a partnership agreement worth 7 billion U.S. dollars to support the country's reforms and sustainable growth.

The World Bank's board of executive directors approved Tuesday the Country Partnership Framework with Egypt for the financial years 2023-2027, the international lender said in a statement on Wednesday. (Egypt-World Bank)

ADEN, Yemen -- Despite recent diplomatic efforts towards peace, heavy clashes between the Yemeni army and the Houthi militia were reignited in the country's oil-rich province of Marib, a military official told Xinhua on Wednesday.

The local military official, who asked to remain anonymous, said that ferocious armed confrontations erupted late on Tuesday night in Marib's district of Harib, causing panic and fear among the local residents in nearby villages. (Yemen-Clash-Peace Effort)

TEHRAN -- At least 14 people were killed and 34 others injured in two road accidents in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan over the past 24 hours, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.

In one of the incidents, 11 people died and one sustained injury in a collision between two sedans on the road from Khash County to the provincial capital of Zahedan on Tuesday night, Fariborz Rashedi, the head of the emergency medical services center of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, was quoted by Tasnim as saying. ANKARA -- Türkiye expressed "deep concern" on Wednesday over the escalating tension in Jerusalem and the West Bank ahead of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, according to a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.
