FAIZABAD -- Two children have been killed and five others injured as a mine left over from past wars went off in Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province, head of provincial information and culture Qari Maazudin Ahmadi said Thursday.

WASHINGTON -- Six people died after a car crashed into a highway work zone on Interstate 695 in the U.S. state of Maryland on Wednesday, Maryland State Police said.

YANGON -- Two people were killed and 14 others sustained injuries in a road accident on Myanmar's highway on Thursday morning, the highway police said.
