MAPUTO -- At least 17 people, including three children, were killed in a deadly road accident in central Mozambique on Saturday morning, the state radio channel Radio Mozambique reported on Sunday.
Another three people suffered serious injuries in the accident that occurred in the Nhamatanda district, central province of Sofala, involving a passenger minibus and a truck, according to the report, quoting Sofala's Secretary of State, Stella da Graca. (Mozambique-Sofala-Road Accident)

WASHINGTON -- The death toll from tornadoes sweeping the southern U.S. state of Mississippi has reached 25 while dozens of others were injured, authorities said on Saturday afternoon.

JERUSALEM -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Sunday, a day after the minister called on the government to halt its contentious judiciary overhaul plan.

MOGADISHU -- Somalia said more than 3,000 al-Shabab militants have been killed and 3,700 more sustained injuries since the government started a military operation against the terror group six months ago.
