ISLAMABAD, March 29 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan has been removed from the European Union's (EU) list of high-risk third countries, and this means opportunities for the South Asian country to increase exports to the EU markets, Pakistan's Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar told media here on Wednesday.
The minister said that, following the removal decision, European legal and economic operators would no longer subject Pakistani businesses and individuals to "Enhanced Customer Due Diligence."
Qamar noted that the prior inclusion caused damage to Pakistan's economy, exporters and traders over the past several years.
Pakistan was added to the EU list in 2018, for having weak anti-money laundering and terror financing regimes, according to the minister. Enditem
