4 killed, 12 injured in van-truck collision in Pakistan's Karachi

ISLAMABAD, April 1 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and 12 others injured in a collision between a passenger van and a truck in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, rescue service reported on Saturday.

The rescue service said that the accident took place on Friday evening near National Highway's toll plaza in the city, resulting in the casualties.

Three passengers including a woman lost their lives on Friday while the fourth one died on Saturday morning, said the rescue service.

The accident occurred when the truck was taking a turn and the speedy van hit it from behind, a rescue worker told Xinhua, adding that rescuers immediately reached the site and shifted the victims to a local hospital.

The van was going from Karachi to Badin district in the southern Sindh province, said the rescue service. Enditem
