TransNamib train derails, killing two crew members

WINDHOEK, April 21 (Xinhua) -- A TransNamib train has derailed in southern Namibia, killing two crew members, the state-owned rail operator said Friday.

"TransNamib hereby confirms a derailment that occurred on the evening of April 20, 2023, between Aus and Luderitz involving a train carrying 20 wagons. TransNamib regrets to report two fatalities that occurred," the company said in a statement.

A total of four staff members were onboard the train when the accident occurred. The surviving crew members are receiving medical treatment. Enditem
