LONDON -- British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab resigned on Friday, one day after an independent report into allegations that he bullied staff members while working at several government departments reached the desk of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
An inquiry was requested by Raab in November last year following formal complaints about his bullying behavior when dealing with civil servants. Sunak appointed senior employment lawyer Adam Tolley to lead an independent investigation. (Britain-Raab-Resignation)

JUBA -- The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it has rescued 40 people in South Sudan, mostly children who spent months separated from their families, and returned them home.
The charity said 29 children, nine women and two men were recovered in Gul, Ayod County in Upper Nile State, north of the country, and were flown on ICRC planes to Malakal. (South Sudan-Rescue)

SEOUL/TOKYO -- South Korea on Friday expressed regret over Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida sending a ritual offering to the war-related Yasukuni Shrine, seen as a symbol of Japanese militarism.
The foreign ministry said in a statement that the Seoul government expresses deep disappointment and regret over Japan's leaders once again paying tribute or respects at the Yasukuni Shrine, which glorifies Japan's war of aggression and enshrines war criminals. (S Korea-Japan) Enditem
