JERUSALEM, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Israel's EuroLeague basketball club Maccabi Tel Aviv has agreed a new contract with Wade Baldwin to stay with the club for two more seasons until 2025, the club announced on Sunday.
The 27-year-old American guard joined Maccabi in June 2022, after a three-season NBA career that included the Memphis Grizzlies and the Portland Trail Blazers, and a period in Europe where he played for Olympiacos, Bayern Munich and Baskonia.
In the current season, Baldwin helped Maccabi reach the EuroLeague playoff quarterfinals, where the Israeli team will face AS Monaco in the best-of-five series that starts on Tuesday.
Baldwin finished second on the EuroLeague's regular season best scorers list, averaging 16.7 points per game, and was also crowned EuroLeague MVP for March.
"I want to continue our tremendous success and grow," said Baldwin. "We want to build a club that is competitive every year at the highest level."
Maccabi head coach Oded Katash added that "apart from his known basketball abilities, Wade is also a leader with a great passion for the game." Enditem
