NEW DELHI -- At least 12 people were killed and several others taken ill after allegedly consuming toxic liquor in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, officials said Monday.

LUANDA -- An out-of-control car smashed into a crowd early Sunday in Luanda, the capital of Angola, resulting in six deaths and six injuries, local media and officials said on Monday.

The driver of the speeding car lost control of the vehicle, which overturned, hit a lighting post and then rammed into 12 pedestrians standing nearby in the Camama area of Luanda's Talatona municipality, said National Police spokesperson Nestor Goubel. (Angola-Traffic-Accident)

BANGKOK -- Unofficial vote counting result of the general election showed the opposition parties have won the majority of seats in the lower house of parliament in Thailand, the Election Commission said Monday.

With 99.18 percent of the votes counted, the two major opposition parties, the Move Forward Party and the Pheu Thai Party each captured 112 seats out of the 400 constituency seats in the House of Representatives, Ittiporn Boonpracong, chairman of the Election Commission, told a press conference on Monday. MEXICO CITY -- At least 13 people were killed on Sunday when a trailer and what appeared to be a box truck collided and caught fire on a highway in northeast Mexico's Tamaulipas state, the state Secretariat of Public Security said.

The accident occurred in the morning at km 80 of Highway 83, along the Hidalgo-Zaragoza stretch, the agency said in a press release. (Mexico-Road Crash). Enditem
