RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian was killed on Monday by Israeli soldiers during clashes in a Palestinian refugee camp close to the northern West Bank city of Nablus, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a press statement.

Salleh Sabra, 22, died after he was shot by Israeli soldiers in the chest during clashes that broke out in the Askar refugee camp, the ministry said. (West Bank-Israeli Raid-Killing)

ANKARA -- Türkiye's election watchdog announced on Monday that the country's presidential election will go to a runoff on May 28 as no candidate secured more than 50 percent of the vote in the initial round.

"According to the results, it has been observed that no presidential candidate could get enough votes to be elected as the president. Our board decided to go to the second round of polls on May 28 in line with the laws," Ahmet Yener, head of the Supreme Election Board, told reporters. (Türkiye-Presidential Runoff)

KHARTOUM -- Clashes continued on Monday between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with eastern parts of the capital Khartoum witnessing intense bombardment by the army's air force.

"A large logistical supply of weapons, ammunition and fuel belonging to the rebel militia has been dealt with in a qualitative operation that targeted some areas in Sharq Al-Neel (eastern Nile) locality and bases around the East Nile Hospital," the army said in a statement. (Sudan-Clashes)

JERUSALEM -- Israel announced on Monday that it had signed a 20-million-euro (21.75 million U.S. dollars) deal with Montenegro for the Balkan nation to purchase Israeli-made weapons.

Under the deal, Elbit Systems, an Israeli defense company, will supply Montenegro with 120 mm mortar munition systems and train its soldiers and officers at the company's training facility in Israel, the Israeli Defense Ministry said in a statement. (Israel-Montenegro-Weapons Export) Enditem
