CANNES, France, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Four Chinese films -- Moon Man, The Cord of Life, Vanished Girl, and Football on the Roof -- received film shortlist certificates of 2023 Cannes Film Festival China's New Talents Going Global Program on Friday night.

China's New Talents Going Global Program, sponsored by China Film Foundation Wu Tianming Film Fund, aims to provide platforms for China's new filmmaking talents to communicate and cooperate with international filmmakers.

Chinese film director Ning Hao said he hopes that Chinese young filmmakers could learn more at international film festivals.

In recent years, the global film market has seen an increase of Chinese films presented at international film festivals, as well as increased cross-border partnerships between Chinese and international filmmakers.

A number of Chinese films and filmmakers have drawn international attention, bringing people closer to China and providing a deeper understanding of Chinese culture across the globe, said Dong Guangli, Chinese Consulate-General in Marseille, at the event.

The China Pavilion, which has been set up since the 69th Cannes Film Festival in 2016, has been providing opportunities for Chinese filmmakers. This year, a number of activities such as Director Ning Hao's Master Class and the International Cooperation Forum will be held at the pavilion.

The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival runs from May 16 to 27, with winners to be announced at the closing ceremony. Enditem
