WARSAW, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Poland men's volleyball team beat Germany 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, 24-22) in a friendly in Sosnowiec on Friday evening.

Artur Szalpuk led Poland with 23 points, while Yann Bohme delivered 18 points for Germany.

The win was revenge for Nikola Grbic's team, as they had lost 3-2 to Germany in Katowice on Thursday.

The hosts started well to take a 9-5 lead, but Germany turned the tide and tied the scores at 9-9 when Tobias Krick delivered an ace. The first set was very tight until the hosts won three consecutive points to take it 26-24.

Germany started to take risks in the service area which turned out to be a good solution, as Poland had problems with reception. Germany, coached by Poland's Michal Winiarski, turned the game to their favor to take a 2-1 overall lead.

However, Grbic's side responded in the best possible way to take the game to a tie-break. In the fourth set, they earned eight points in a row. Szalpuk delivered an ace, while Kamil Semeniuk attacked effectively to make it 25-18.

The tie-break was a great show from both teams. The hosts had the last word as they blocked Germany's attack to take a 23-22 lead, and in the next play, Germany made a simple mistake in attack to kill their hopes of winning the game. Enditem
