ADDIS ABABA -- The African Union (AU) has adopted the Roadmap for the Resolution of the Conflict in Sudan toward silencing the guns in Sudan.

The roadmap was adopted during the AU Peace and Security Council meeting that was held at the heads of state and government level on Saturday, focusing on the situation in Sudan, the AU said in a communique issued on Sunday. (African Union-Conflict-Sudan)

NEW DELHI -- The state's Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Sunday claimed that 40 suspected militants belonging to the "Kuki" groups have been killed by security forces over the past couple of days.

DAR ES SALAAM -- At least one football fan died on Sunday and 30 others were injured following a stampede after the fans forced themselves into the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in the Tanzanian port city of Dar es Salaam, officials said.

The stampede occurred when the football fans pushed through an access gate as they rushed in to watch the CAF Confederation Cup first leg finals between the Young Africans of Tanzania and the USM Alger of Algeria. (Tanzania-Stadium-Stampede)

ANKARA -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won Türkiye's presidential runoff on Sunday, according to unofficial results delivered by the semi-official Anadolu Agency.

Erdogan secured 52.08 percent of votes in the presidential poll, while his contender, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the leader of the center-left Republican People's Party and presidential nominee of the opposition bloc, received 47.92 percent, after 98.88 percent of ballot boxes were counted, Anadolu said.
