BUENOS AIRES, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Rosario Central and Belgrano kept alive their hopes of finishing in the top four of Argentina's Primera Division with comfortable home victories on Saturday.

Lautaro Giaccone scored two second-half goals as Rosario Central rose to fifth with a 4-1 win over Instituto. Alejo Velez and Jaminton Campaz were also on target for the hosts while Adrian Martinez converted a late penalty for Instituto.

In Buenos Aires, Pablo Vegetti and Guillermo Pereira netted first half goals as Belgrano secured a 2-0 victory over Velez Sarsfield.

The result leaves Belgrano sixth in the 28-team standings, two points behind Rosario Central, while Velez dropped to 22nd.

Earlier, River Plate's home match against Defensa y Justicia was suspended in the 25th minute with the scores tied at 0-0 after a fan fell to his death from a grandstand. It was not immediately clear if and when the game would resume.

Elsewhere, Central Cordoba climbed to 15th after first-half goals from Lucas Besozzi and Leandro Maciel gave them a 2-0 home win over Huracan. Enditem
