4 carmakers in S. Korea to recall 54,412 vehicles for defects

SEOUL, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Four local and foreign carmakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall 54,412 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the transport ministry said Wednesday.

Kia Motors will recall 48,025 vehicles of six models for dashboard software error, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Volkswagen Group Korea will recall 4,815 units of all-electric ID.4 SUV for a faulty vehicle door latch.

Stellantis Korea will recall 1,479 units of Jeep Grand Cherokee for a defective intermediate shaft, while Ford Sales & Service Korea will recall 93 units of Ranger Wildtrak to fix a faulty shock observer in front wheels.

Vehicles owners can visit repair and service centers to replace the faulty parts free of charge. Enditem
