RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian man was killed on Friday by Israeli soldiers at an Israeli army checkpoint west of the West Bank city of Ramallah, the Palestinian health ministry said.

The ministry said in a short text message that it was informed by the Palestinian liaison office of security coordination with Israel that Israeli soldiers opened fire and killed a Palestinian at Rantis checkpoint west of the city. (West Bank-Israeli Checkpoint-Palestinian-Killing)

TEHRAN -- At least seven people were killed and 59 others injured in storms and flash floods in five Iranian provinces over the past two days, IRIB news agency reported Friday.

Among the four people killed in Isfahan were three by flooding in Nohuj village in Ardestan County on Thursday and a driver on an intercity road, whose car was washed away by the deluge, the semi-official Mehr news agency quoted Isfahan Disaster Mitigation and Management Organization as saying. KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese army declared on Friday its commitment to a 24-hour truce with the rival faction starting Saturday at 6 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

However, the army also highlighted its right reserved to "deal with any violations that the rebels may commit" during the new truce mediated by Saudi Arabia and the United States, according to a statement by the office of the Sudanese army's spokesman. (Sudan-Truce-Commitment)

KHARTOUM -- The Sudanese government has declared that the UN envoy to the country Volker Perthes is not welcome anymore.
