TOKYO, June 14 (Xinhua) -- One man died and two others sustained light injuries following an explosion at a chemical plant in Japan's Niigata Prefecture on Wednesday, local media reported.

An emergency call made Wednesday morning said there was a small explosion at chemical maker Denka Co.'s plant in Itoigawa city, Kyodo News reported, citing local police and firefighters.
