RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia and the United States announced on Saturday in a joint statement that Sudan's two warring factions have agreed on a new 72-hour cease-fire.

SANAA -- Yemen's national airline Yemenia Airways restarted on Saturday direct flights from Houthi-held Sanaa to Saudi Arabia after a nearly-eight-year suspension.
The flights connect the Yemeni capital of Sanaa with the Saudi cities of Jeddah and Madinah and are intended to help Yemeni pilgrims travel to the kingdom, marking another breakthrough amid ongoing international efforts to pave the way for peace in Yemen. (Yemen-Saudi Arabia-Direct Flights)

KHARTOUM -- At least 17 civilians, including five children and women, were killed on Saturday in an airstrike south of Sudan's capital Khartoum, the country's health ministry said.
"Al-Yarmouk and Mayo areas, south of Khartoum, came under airstrikes ... with initial estimates showing 17 killed, including five children, women and elderly people, and 25 homes destroyed," the ministry said in a statement on Facebook. (Sudan-Army Airstrike-Casualties)

TEHRAN -- Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud arrived in Tehran on Saturday afternoon, beginning his first visit to the Iranian capital after severed bilateral ties were resumed months ago, semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported.
Upon arrival, the Saudi minister was welcomed by his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, with whom he is expected to meet later in the day, the report said. (Iran-Saudi Arabia-Visit) Enditem
