DAMASCUS -- Three soldiers were killed and six others wounded when a roadside bomb blasted into their bus in the central province of Homs on Sunday, pro-government Sham FM radio reported.

The bomb ripped through the bus at the al-Jabriyeh intersection on the road toward the town of Mushirfeh in the eastern countryside of Homs, said the report. (Syria-Bomb Attack-Death)

CHICAGO -- At least one was killed and over 20 were shot when a group of people gathered to celebrate Juneteenth at a parking lot in the southwest suburbs of Chicago on Sunday morning.

CAIRO -- Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul-Gheit met with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell in Cairo on Sunday over the recent developments in the Middle East.

During their meeting, Aboul-Gheit and Borrell agreed on the principles to achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy that guarantee the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the basis of the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative, the Cairo-based Arab League said in a statement.
